New Stove Serves Las Vegas Community
Comedor de San Pascual, Inc. a soup kitchen and food pantry, received a grant this year, so they could purchase a new stove that will enable them to continue to cook hot meals for the folks they serve in Las Vegas. They are distributing approximately 900 meals a week due to the pandemic and hand out food bags to everyone who comes for a hot meal.
“Because of your Catholic Foundation grant this year, this is what we will have in the OLOS (Our Lady of Sorrows) Parish Hall for cooking. As one volunteer put it, she is going to stock up on more stainless cleaner. Thank you and the committee for allowing us to convert your grant money into the purchase of this stove to better meet our needs in preparing the food to serve the community. We are going to change our serving times back one hour so the customers, and staff, don’t have to be outside in the darker colder evenings.” ~ Bonnie Bolton, Executive Director, Comedor de San Pasqual, Inc.
